Shalom Shalom.. Or does that just mean Goodbye?
No, unfortunantly, I had run into a couple of others and they weren't much better. In fact, a friend of mine who ran a retail store also mentioned that he's had similar experiences. He said as soon as a person told me he was a "born again Christian" I'd know he was after something. I'd lock the cash register. I have dealt with hundreds of people over the course of the years and can only recall these few experiences. Three total, now that I think of it. The third one mentioned that I was the only broker that they were working with when I noticed a flyer from another office sticking out of the woman's purse. It was dated that day. When she saw me see it, she immediately shoved it back into her purse and got all embarassed. I thought it funny. (It didn't matter to me how many others they were using as I had all exlusive listings.)
I've just sort of associated "born again Christians" with these people and people like that Swaggert fellow and Tammy Fay Baker. They talk about having "eternal life." Why would anyone in their wildest imagination ever want to live forever with the likes of those people?
You mention "belief in God." How can you believe in something that you know exists? It seems to me that belief and knowledge are mutually exclusive. It is obvious-- to me anyway-- that there is some force that set all this physical universe into operation. Whether it is an intell- gent force or not I don't know as I can only only go by what I see. Any attributes that I would give to it would be my own creation. I think most religions call that force "God" or give it some similar name. Since it is obvious why then would you have to believe its there rather than know it's there?
Anyhow-- philosophy takes many forms. And, I suppose that for each born again Christian there must be others like Mother Teresa. I also think of the ministers, priests and rabbis that gave their life jackets to other sailors who didn't have any when their torpedoed ship was sinking in WW II. Although we consider that a brave act, but, then, it doesn't correlate with survival of the fittest.
So much for rambling.. back to the market. You never did tell me about your name.. It is an alias or real?
