Worst disaster in history is a bit much. Esp. if you mean anything none about during the history of the human race, rather than just what was written down at the time with written records surviving. Worst natural disaster in modern history in the America's OTOH probably fits. Off hand I can't think of anything worse, esp. if your limiting yourself to specific short duration natural events rather than a change in climate over time.
