I guess there hasn't been any requirement from anywhere else in the world to have this type of huge cells for WCDMA.
But if you think that they will not be able to have about the same coverage on WCDMA as in CDMA on the same frequency you are wrong.It's just a matter of if you want to spend the money to develop the new type of basestations required
