Douglas - re: External CD's.

Although it may seem like a kluge, I have found an external "solution" that has turned out to be useful for multiple machines.

Does your Hitachi have a SCSI port?

If so, you can buy a SCSI CD, put it in an external enclosure (I found one with a power supply and SCSI connector for $125) and then you can move it from machine to machine. One caution, don't do this if you're not already running W95 - the DOS and W 3.1 CDROM driver thing can drive you nuts, particularly with SCSI settings.

Good luck.
