Allawi is a former Bathist bodyguard of Saddam, and therefore capable of it. But it's too neat, and I don't think he would be that stupid It would be stupid for him to let this story get around in the West, but in Iraq? Iraqi politics has a long history of cruelty; I am sure it is to his advantage that Iraqis believe this story and think they've got a real tough guy to handle the job.
