I guess the part that puzzled me was: if they are telling you that, then they have told the analysts the same thing. So you would think the analysts would have adjusted their estimates based on what they heard.

I did notice that that report from the fellow who talked with the CEO contained a statement confirming what you are saying. But I don't understand why an analyst, hearing that, would not the adjust her estimates downward to account for that fact. And I am quite sure that if CFO is saying this to us, then he has said it to the analyst community.

So what gives? Standard platitudinous responses (analysts are way behind the curve because they are too busy drinking coffee, or analysts work for other interests) do not apply, as always.
