Too bad they wasted all their marketing skills on one of their worst products. "Web.Designer is not reliable or simple enough for beginners. Advanced HTML jockeys will find the software inconvenient and limited." "While some of the templates are attractive, few have all the pieces you really need to build a Web site." "The Web page editor (based on software from iband) is weak and unreliable. For editing HTML, you're better off using dependable free products, such as Microsoft's Internet Assistant add-on or GNNpress. " "it lacks the kind of features you'll want when creating a Web site." "The software is also flaky." "The HTML handling isn't even trustworthy." And the final nail in the coffin: "If you want a good HTML editor, look elsewhere." That's from c\|net's review of WebDesigner. I've used Front Page, and from the sounds of this review, it rocks W.D. Tables are one of the most essential elements of good web authoring, and W.D. does not offer it. (FrontPage does, along with frames, which I'm not a very big fan of) But that doesn't mean MSFT is still on top...the no-brainer choice is Adobe Pagemill.
