Hi, Shalom. Glad to see you back here after you were away for a while.

It is fine with me, to discuss it in this open forum. Even the least of gifts is edifying.

I'm familiar with the scriptures on the subject of speaking in tongues out loud in church. The Corintians let it get a bit out of hand, so the Holy Spirit taught them, and us, through Paul, that such should only be done if there was also an interpreter present, for the sake of avoiding confusion.

I haven't prayed/spoken in tongues in a gathering, because I've never been in one in which I knew there was an interpreter present, nor did I feel an urge to do so. If I did, though, I would make sure there was someone present who could interpret first, so as to follow the Scriptural guidelines.

I know of many people, who, like myself, use it in private prayer when their understanding reaches its limits and the spirit still feels the need to pray.
