This may help. Go to this sight:

and click on the analyst web cast. Its long but well worth it. You may come away with a different view concerning supply, demand, technology etc. Corning also gives a very good presentation on technology and cost advantages.

The companies with copper, older fiber and/or a need for major funding will have a difficult road ahead IMO.
