Steve,

MRVC is OK with Internet on power lines. MRV makes LAN switches that are used in networking college and company campuses for instance, and Fast Ethernet switches that are used for desktops. MRV makes some ATM switches also but that's not the major business. I suppose fiber will be used to carry data to the power companies because fiber is more reliable and faster than power lines. Companies that are affected by this Internet on power lines are, I think, 3Com, ASND, all the modem companies, even cable companies, and all the WAN companies.

This Internet on power lines may be still a long way for being installed in the US. Yesterday, Microsoft just invested several hundred millions bucks in TCI for Internet on cable.
