Barb - Re:"Klamath into any of the daughterboard modules for notebooks ..."

Intel discussed this week its new Single Edge Contact Cartridge Design, to be introduced with the new Klamath processor early next year. I believe it is this form factor that Intel will also try to deploy for the Notebook Computer Market.

The one drawback is that it sounds like Intel's priorities put this number three behind Klamath Desktops and Server Applications.

The reasons for this may have something to do with power dissipation - in the past few years, Intel has provided Pentiums with a 2.9 volt supply for low-power notebooks, versus 3.3 volts (nominal) for their desktop and server Pentiums.

I would expect Intel to target a Klamath with about 2.5 volts Vcc for notebook applications, but this may push the development/delivery into the latter part of 1997.
