Excellent find. Novell is moving to solidfy NDS very well.
Bellcore is the Bell Communications Research facility of the Regional Bell Operating Companies. In the past most of the standards for research and implementation for the RBOC's was donw by Bellcore. They were wholly funded by the Bells as each Bell owned a portion of them.
The reason this is good news is that usually what Bellcore standardizes on, the Bells employ in their networks. As the Bells enter the ISP market, they might deploy NDS. One of the interesting items is that the Bells are trying to sell Bellcore right now. So, the Bellcore clout of establishing a standard for RBOC's might not be so strong anymore.
My take on this,is that Novl is trying many good avenues to get their NDS into worldwide use. These are very good moves!!!!
