I think you should be ok with egghead. I got some delivered just a week before the big announcement. One of the more boring certificates -- the "egghead.com" is in a special font but that's it -- but it is unique among dot-com failures in that it was a profitable "bricks and mortar" business before going down the road to ruin. My certificate numbers are in the #6800 range.

That's odd that etoys trades but you can't get certificates. I'd double-check that with your broker. My bet is that it isn't trading -- the "historical quotes" here give Feb. 27 as the last trade.

There are only a handful that have even a graphic on it (e.g. Webvan). garden.com is said to have a wonderful graphic. One of the articles says that pets.com has the sock-puppet on some of the certificates. I'm dubious, because my pets.com is like #600 and it doesn't have it. There weren't many before me, and I usually wait until they're close to delisting before ordering, so there can't be that many after me either.

I have maybe a dozen different companies so far, and have seen maybe a dozen more on scripophily.com, ebay auctions, etc. etoys, emachines, ivillage, and talk city are the only ones I've seen that try to use the entire certificate for graphics and colors.

How does thestreet.com look?
