"MSU Corp. GUILTY OF "EXHIBITIONISM"!!!!" <g>
Hey Gang!!!
OK, so I can't seem to get enough of this newsletter..... However, I DID say that if I had some hot news, I would get back to you..... :0)
Keith Goodyer phoned me this evening as per guidance from Wyn Holloway and asked that I post this update to the newsletter.
Due to popular demand, (and this is defined as those who sent e-mail and phoned the company) MSU is negotiating for a booth at the DCI Internet Expo to be held in Chicago this Thursday and Friday. The sticking point seems to be the price of the booth as the event is only for two days and the company wants to get the most bang for the buck. Average turnout at the expo is rumoured at 40,000 visitors. However, these will be the hard-core technicians and engineers that deal with the Internet business market, and I believe it will prove to be an invaluable forum for displaying the performance of the Netbox. Either I, or Kevin Hinyub, will get back to you with the details over the next couple of days, to include location and the staff members who will be representing the company there. This is not set in stone, but it was our consensus that attending the event would be worth the money no matter what and I expect Keith and MSU to be in attendance. This event apparently will have representation from competitors like Oracle and Viewcall and most likely Bandai as well. I'm looking forward to MSU meeting the competition head-on for a change.... :0)
BUT WAIT!! THERE'S MORE!!! MSU will be attending the PC Expo in NYC next week. This is apparently a VERY HIGH visibility convention, and should develop major recognition of the Netbox technology. Keith will be forwarding the Booth location to us ASAP. Anyone in the NY area should attend, drop my name and ask Keith if you can "test-drive" the unit.... :0) Details will follow later.
Keith also said that response from the COMDEX exhibit was ASTOUNDING with dozens of senior engineers from major companies leaving their calling cards with him. Actually, I think the number of cards obtained tallied around 180+, meaning they achieved some major exposure.
The majority of those from the TV Technology firms seemed to find it fascinating that MSU's iSP Slipstream ASIC truly amounts to "Internet on a Chip" and could technically be incorporated into any current TV hardware, which with the addition of modem hardware, would instantly make a normal TV "Internet Ready". I myself didn't fully realize that the Slipstream is pretty much what LSI Logic is *STILL* working on, and that MSU has it now!!! It acts as a combination VGA and Sound card, a CD-Rom interface card and finally, a multi I/O card, *ALL* on one chip. It is everything that you need in a PC, except the processor, the memory and the modem. This is MAJOR!!!! For a proprosed cost of $100, any Television manufacturer could have a Internet ready TV, kinda of like the model that Compaq expects everyone to pay $3500+ for (Even though theirs *IS* a full pentium computer as well, but then again, that sounds a lot like MSU's Minstrel design, doesn't it?
In addition, the ENVOY CD-Rom controller chipset should be in silicon within several weeks. Those of you who are followers of companies like Oak Technology should start paying more attention to MSU!!!! The Envoy is destined to replace all of these current controllers and could possibly severely impact the market share of current CD controller manufacturers. The 3 big players in the CD-Rom machine market control HUGE market share. A deal with any of these companies or any of the hundreds of others others in their down-chain could equate to major market share and resulting revenues. From what Keith was able to tell me, the Envoy ASIC will operate at a MINIMUM of an 8X CD-Rom and replaces all of the usual 5 chips that are used on current CD-Rom controllers as mentioned in the website product description. Since Oak Technology only produces the block decoder PC interface, their device could eventually be replaced, as well as the other chips produced by companies like Sony, Toshiba, Sanyo, and Philips, and the micro-controller chips from Intel, Hitachi, Philips or others by SOLE use of the Envoy. Over the last year, OAKT had a moving average of around $24, before the recent breakdown in the price and is now trading at $10. And they have competition in their field. MSU, to my knowledge, has no competition possessing a similiar product. You tell me what you think the potential value of the stock is.... :0)
I learn a hell of lot each and every time that I speak with Keith. (I will admit upfront that I don't even pretend to be a Electronics Engineer, but I *DO* understand capabilties of equipment and marketing potential). I hope to continue these little "tutoring" sessions with Keith as I always learn alot about the technology, and it builds my confidence and ability to convey the potential of their products. I think that the company has tremendous upside potential over the next several years. Personally, I think that we will eventually look back and reflect on what we have achieved with this newsletter with a great deal of personal satisfaction on being involved with MSU during its infancy. I will never tell shareholders what to do, but I will always endeavor to provide them the information upon which they will be able to make an informed decision about the long-term potential of the company.
Finally, for those who question why MSU oftens fails to "get its message out", Keith basically summed it up by remarking, "that when the company goes quiet, it usually means we're too damn busy to do anything regarding publicity." As long as they come through in the long run, I don't really mind having to hassle the company for information.... :0) However, the 'ol Muse would LOVE to begin a new career in the Public Relations field.... (Hint, Hint,.... :0)
Regards,
Ron The MSU Muse
PS: I was told that the reason MSU's Netbox was able to load website URLs at so quickly at COMDEX is that each and every booth had a T1 connection to the Internet. I wish I had one.... :0(

And for those of you who following, with bated breath, the current scandal involving the transfer of 339 confidential personnel files from the FBI to the White House, gossip forum member Paul Velek offers this somewhat ironic quote....
"The beginning of tyranny is the destruction of the truth."
