Lawrence,

"This is a vote like research analyst votes not a poll"

Couldn't disagree more. Most analysts (well, honest ones anyway) have no emotional bias when it comes to stocks. They run the numbers and make conclusions based upon the results. Relatively little subjectivism creeps into their conclusions.

In almost all cases people participating in this survey will already be owners of the company and therefore biased.

The timing of most investors is horrid anyway, often getting caught up in the greed-of-the-moment and buying at peak valuations, or listening to the advice of the less honest brokers and analysts that are more interested in hyping a stock for the short term.

Throwing darts at your stock-picking dart board would be just as effective.
