Victor- While I see some usefulness in Price-to-sales, it also totally rewards companies for driving sales growth at the expense of profits...look at Amazon and the internuts....
Actually, Dell should be a funny (strange not HAHA) example this quarter...the Street will actually be happier with Dell if Dell grows revenues somewhere in the 40's, and has LESS earnings growth (than last quarter's 49% y-o-y)...that if earnings growth is HIGHER, but revenue growth is 39,40%....???
So Dell will probably have a better price-to-sales this quarter (than last), but grow earnings at a slower pace....and get rewarded for it!
Compaq is pretty cheap at these levels, but given the big differences in their business models and focus, I find comparisons between Compaq and Dell less relevant than in the past.....It is good that we are (probably) in the last week of the "fear game"...that alone should bring some money back to the sector..and raise all boats..
Saw that Keegan, England did pretty good in his debut...hope he stays on.....always liked him as a player and a positive influence, although I guess he never played as well for England as he did for his club teams........Man. United look to be firing on all cylinders, look pretty unstoppable....Call me a dreamer, but I'd love to see a return to the 80's, when it seemed (at least) smaller clubs (like a Watford, what was that team in Wales...Cardiff?) could compete at the top for a year or two...the sport is probably ruled now by the big-money clubs (like baseball here) though, and it is impossible for the little guys to hang on to talent long enough to really challenge.... saw where Alan Ball's lads are washing their own jockstrap (instead of throwing them out) to save a few $$$......unbelievable...
BTW- What ever happened to George Best? I never saw someone who could dribble like him! Even as a 35 year old, washed-up alcoholic, when he played in the U.S., he was incredible...(Although I was too young to see Sir Stanley Matthews)...
Hope you and Jim (Kelley) can reach a peace accord....Cheers... |
