| 12/15/06 Update The 2006 Biotech Charity Contest is over!
 Kudos to our champ, RKRW!
At the 12/15/06 contest close, RKRW's portfolio was up a phenomenal 71.9% for the contest period. Wilder's portfolio took second place with a very impressive 50.4% gain. Cyran's portfolio made it to third place, showing a solid plus 43.3% and with more than a little luck I snuck into fourth place with 38.0%.
Unfortunately, it was not a very good year for the contest participants as a group. The median for the 40 Charity Contest portfolios actually closed down -.68% for the contest period compared to the Nasdaq Biotech Index's 3.50% gain. But 18 of the 40 portfolios did wind up in positive territory and 16 outperformed the NBI.
Below is the Unofficial Top Ten list on 12/15/06:

 12/15/06
 Rank	Name	Total
 1	RKRW	71,923
 2	WILDER	50,371
 3	CYRAN	43,270

 5	ROBERT	27,915

 7	JORGEN	16,939
 8	IJ	16,114
 9	QUID	13,783
 10	LJM	10,371

(Caution: I've certainly made some mistakes in my spreadsheet. And the Official Scorekeeper, FiloF, I presume, will undoubtedly come up with different numbers and possibly rankings.)
Reminder: RKRW designated WomanPlace, an affiliate program of Caspar, Inc. as his charity of choice. The Caspar website is at: casparinc.org
There are also photos of the WomanPlace home at: evbdesign.com
I phoned WomanPlace and they told me checks should be made out to Caspar-WomanPlace. The mailing address is:
 WomanPlace
 Carol Nickerson, Program Director
 11 Russell Street
 Cambridge, MA 02140
The Caspar website has an online donation page but I don't know if one can designate their WomanPlace program as the recipient of online donations. Perhaps RKRW can find out whether that's possible.
Also, a question for RKRW: Would you like those making donations to indicate that they're being made in honor of your winning the contest? If so, you might want to post your real name for those who don't already know it.
On to the 2007 Biotech Charity Contest!
