Kevin had a good recovery. It all depends on how much damage is done to the cord. After about a year he was able to walk with a cane. His injury happened when he was 18. In his late 30's he lost control of his bathroom functions, became depressed and snuffed it with a shotgun.

As for Karen's husband, I am trying to give him the benefit of a doubt. Karen was a good person and she forgave Jeff completely.
