ELRNF (ELRON Electronic Industries)

These Israeli guys have some interesting private equity tech investments and a nice cash balance. They showed up on my stock screens, and I bought them end of last year on what seemed to be tax-related selling (note the September drop included a 3.70 special divvy).

I don't pretend to be a venture/private equity investor, but the technologies sound pretty cool, so would be curious on thoughts from others.

Basically with this one you will have a cash burn due to overhead expenses (and cash burn in their portfolio companies, which they have to record themselves as well) and then hopefully from time to time you will get a large profitable exit. Right now most of their asset value is in cash, so they would need to see some large profits on their tech investments in order to move the needle, but they have managed to generate positive net income for the past three years.
