Yes, that "rumor" which may or may not be true. Could be some hedge fund playing around on options expiration week or could be that they had to redo an order that was messed up.

Some of the equipment makers are fabless and even if they aren't they can contract out what they can't manufacture themselves. Business has been so horrible, I don't think they'll have much trouble with being capacity restrained for a while.

Intel isn't a sole source supplier like the IC chip companies which is why design wins are so very important.
