With the late day rally on Thursday and the large amount of short covering on Friday, many puts were sold off. If the market crashes tomorrow, the call buyers are wiped out and the majority of nimble put players are completely locked out and unprepared as premiums rocket up. Expirations ends up being an inexpensive one for the writers... Deja vu of 1987 but a week earlier?
