that's exactly the problem with an ideologue. You want to slow the growth of gov't whether that's reasonable or even beneficial to the public.

You like to pull that out at any opportunity, but its irrelevant here. The issue at hand is the growth of the government, not the growth of the deficits.

And the issue I raised wasn't a partisan one. Republicans growing government is as much a problem as Dems growing government. If Republicans do it to, that just adds to the extent government has grown "helter skelter". Trying to portion up blame, accurately or not, doesn't change what's happening. If Republicans are incarnate demons, it still doesn't refute the point I made. Its totally irrelevant. I suspect if we where talking about who's going to win next years Superbowl, you would mention Bush's deficits as well...

And even when considering deficits and the partisan responsibility for them (neither of which was the issue under discussion, but I'll respond to your new topic as well), the biggest deficits ever (as a percentage of GDP) where under a Dem president, and the biggest deficits since then will be Obama's.
