The culture of Northern India is quite similar to that of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Sure, I am not an expert but at least I know better than to condescendingly state that Afghan culture amounts to "nothing".

Those are your words not mine...click back and you will see that I said re. Afghan, "They live in little tribes and haven't done anything cultural for 5 or 6 centuries. What part of nothing do you know the most about? "

I stand by that comment and invite you to refute it with something other than I am wrong and you are right because you visited India.

As for the similarities between India and Afghan culture...The Afghan culture is religious based and tribal based.
India has over 800 million Hindus, 5 Hindus for every Muslim.
There are no more than a few thousand Hindus left in Afghanistan. That is about about 5,000 Muslims for every Hindu.

India's culture is based on religious, language and ethnic diversity. 80% of the population is Hindu.
Afghan culture is based on local tribal custom and the Muslim faith. 99% of Aghanistan is Muslim.

India is flourishing and developing.
Afghanistan went over 20 years without a government before our arrival.

Afghan's culture is Muslim based and has been since the Muslims overran the country 5 or 6 hundred years ago. The only cultural thing that changed in that period was the introduction of Taliban extremists and they are Muslim too. Approx 10 years ago they ran most of the last of a small Hindu population out.

I still read Field Manuals and area study handbooks just for fun.

India and Afganistan have less in common than you and me.
I look forward to your rebuttal again.
