It was Intel's early success (when they were unchallenged) which provided the tremendous resources necessary to wage a campaign like Intel Inside. AMD and CYRX are fighting for their financial lives. Brand recognition requires, among other things, lots of $$'s. TV adds are very expensive. Hundreds of TV adds are that much more expensive. IMO, it is very hard, if not impossible, to build brand name recognition exclusively through print and/or radio media.

So far, neither AMD and CYRX have been able to build the kind of brand recognition we are talking about. They are not new in the business so I have to assume that they have been trying for years to establish their names. I am not impressed at all by the management of either AMD or CYRX. Indeed, their marketing failures are much more striking than their technology shortfalls.
