After my mother died she got another check which was forwarded to me. I called SS and told them I'd return the check. They told me to deposit the check and they'd contact me about repaying it. SS didn't but they froze all 4 of my bank accounts and fooled around a month taking the money before turning my account's loose. Thank God I had $2 large in cash on hand.
