I know what the true reserves and grade are at Raglan. Actually it has been hinted at. There is literature, but the published data is false.

I know the above statement is a tad wide, but hmmm well, I am comfortable with it.

I will however not go into the actuality. Scads takes it in.

I know one of the fellows who baby sat a drill for falco up there in 1968. I recall some of the data coming out of the area back then. Falco did not want to compete with Inco in nickel back then. Marketwise it would have been unwise and the CDN government changed the tax structure to make the tax breaks for northern infrastructure much less favourable. This sort of guaranteed there would be no more Polarises or Nanisiviks. The federal government was responsible for 60% of the mine killing in the last 40 years that I know about. Much of was done by Riparian rights obfuscation and air quality issues by the federal liberals. These are two areas that are exclusively federal and allow them to turn up the screws on smelters and tailings ponds. The provinces served to do the rest with cute little deals on mine expropriation, labour regs, envi excesses, etc.. NDP can directly be accused of stopping at least 100 mines in Canada. Job losses hard to calculate. Since they say that for every mining job there are 10 people supported, we can say that 500,000 owe their under, unemployment/support to the NDP. There were 300 mines running in Canada in 1978. 38% of Canada's foreign exchanged was supplied by mines and related industry. There are now 80 mine running. 220 mines means about 110,000 employes. 1.1 million people under employed and under supported because of CDN federal and provincial policies and regulations. I think I can safely say that because mining had the highest average wage in Canada. Lost foreign exchange is perhaps 27.8%. That is not a small amount of money.

Today the government bleats about the North West passage. They claim CDN sovereignity to the Arctic Islands. It has become important because of the oil up there that Dome Pete hinted at in their massive but abortive exploration programs of the 70's and 80's. But in cutting back the tax breaks that would have allowed CDN mining companies to develop industriall driven solutions to Arctic access, we have scuttled our case and ability to make our claim evident to these areas.
