Actually, she sounds like Sarah Palin....she knows little about what she's speaking.
Growing up, living on the West Coast - I never encountered communities such as you speak of...I do know there was/is a large Italian community in SF - but they spoke English..Oh, Chinese in Chinatown speak Chinese...it's a only recent phenomenon that now Americans have to learn Spanish to compete in the job market (govt jobs - bilingual preferred) I'm surprised we're not paying homage to the "native Americans" and speaking Chocktaw as a result. And who says they were here first? What ever happened to Kennewick man - the european whose presence predated "natives" whose remains were scurried off for a proper "indian burial."
I am not sure where on the West Coast she grew up. However, in Chinatown LA, SFO and Seattle, they speak Chinese....Mandarin, I believe. In Koreatown in LA, they speak primarily Korean although not exclusively. In Little Italy in NYC, they speak Italian. That is common whenever new immigrants have come to this country.
Who designated hispanics as a minority anyway? Because they're not a minority - not in TX and soon to be the majority in CA...was it the the anti-Christian, pro-pedophile ACLU...now there's a 'union' I dislike.
If Hispanics.....the b*tch doesn't know the H is capitalized.....are a majority in TX or in CA, why shouldn't the primary language be Spanish in those two states?
Everywhere I drive here in OR, roads are being rebuilt, new bridges and overpasses are going up...next month the state of OR is sending kicker checks - tax rebates to everyone because we have a budget surplus...additonally, there is no question about voting fraud since our ballots are filled out at home and mailed back in...What a great state this has turned out to be!
