imo the huge jump on rate cut day followed by a slightly negative day on even higher volume could possibly be seen as a big negative. it removed lots of shorts, which heretofore were providing a cushion for the declines. the next day clearly was a distribution day as well, when record volume a day after a cut can't move the market higher, something is clearly not right. commercials stock index futures short position per latest CoT barely budged btw.
