Interesting discussion.. enjoyed everyone's posts. I'd like to add some thoughts that occured to me while reading various ideas on vix, predicting bottoms and tops.. etc. I was trading during the 87 crash and remember the anxiety of watching stocks move so quickly there was no way to know the price. There was no "real time" price to place an order against, its was chaos that afternoon.
