I suspect I'm a lot older than most folks on this thread,

Hell, he's probably not even the average age for this thread, I'm 56 myself...but I think of myself in the upper middle.

IMO the younger generation suffers from a serious lack of education in Civics and history of USA during those 4 decades.

Long ago leftists in the US figured out that they couldn't get the US to sell out to socialism up front, so began the assault on our educational system by radicals. They did away with corporal punishment and replaced discipline with coddling. Just look at the names on the teachers text books and do some research on the authors. All are 'progressives' (should have called them regressives).

Most families don't take the time at the dinner table or otherwise to discuss events - current and/or the past!

My son is 16 and this election has spurred some interest in him (I'm cultivating him like hell..<g>). At least once a week I ask him what he's been learning, just to make sure his school is concentrating on the right things. He goes to one of the best puplic school districts (Poway) in Ca., so he's yet to come home and tell me anything I find upsetting.

He does have liberal teachers though... but I've given him the tools he needs to stand up to them when he thinks they're wrong and he does too...<g>

The younger generation voted for what they can get from the Federal Government without working.

They are in trouble.

So much for "ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country"

It's a heinous thing that this wonderful sentiment has been reversed......
