Too many Lt Col and up in SOCOM are coming from support people, IMO.

I think your opinion is correct but needs to be broadened.

Special Operations Command Forces are the present and the near future of our national security.
Slashing the ratio of experienced front line SOCOM combat troops (Special Forces and SEALS
and others) and highly experienced officers in all of those specialties is a recipe for catastrophe..

I would make some changes before our next war….BUT you go to war with with the force you have not the force you wish you had.
