Vestax's rack mount hard drive recording units OEM Syjet, and Syjet is the recommended drive for Digidesign Protools. It appears to me that the use of Iomega drives is largely due to the ability to find disks for it more than anything else, since Roland's choice of the tiny 100MB Zip for digital audio recording is nearly idiotic. For your sampler, you should be able to connect a Syjet, since Syjet is SCSI you need to use this drive. You might get on the E-mu mailing list, I've seen posts note that they get it to work fine. You might even be able to connect the sampler to the computer by SCSI, but this becomes more complex.
