Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today announced the completion of its acquisition of Zip2 Corporation, expanding local information and e-commerce through the creation of the Internet's first city portals. Zip2 is now an operating division of AltaVista Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Compaq.
