AMD Athlon XP (Palomino) up to 1.6 GHz in October

ocworkbench.com

Mainboard manufacturers are looking forward to the release of Athlon XP processor (codenamed Palomino) in October. The new CPU will have enhanced speed and lower power consumption. Furthermore, chipset companies are likely to benefit from the new processors as well. The CPUs will not have problems with most of the existing boards as an update to the BIOS code will be needed. In October, AMD Athlon XP’s new correspondent model number will also be introduced and below is what the new code will be for

1333Mhz - 1500+
1400Mhz - 1600+
1467Mhz - 1700+
1500Mhz - 1800+
1600Mhz - 1900+

If true this could help AMD's ASPs a lot.
