Galambos, from what I know about him and what I read by him, anchored his beliefs around an individual. There can be no freedom unless it is a freedom of an individual. Function of the state should be, primarily, to protect this freedom - including the freedom to own (aka capitalism). Our pols and social "scientists", otoh, will say "I'll take away from you half of what's yours, and redistribute it to a variety of others, especially those who support me (and I'll keep to myself the lion's share, for my efforts). This is scientifically guaranteed to improve the average wellbeing and fairness by 0.000000000....001%).

Which brings me back to your remark about trading freedom for security. Security without freedom is prison.
