So, where does Apple stand with high definition playback on the Macs? Sony, Pioneer and others are releasing Blu-ray or HD-DVD computer drives this month and I see no mention of Apple providing support for these drives to work with the current Macs, more specifically the new Mac Pro.

Every Mac supports HD resolutions today via firewire, Apps, and DVI... it's just not the Hollywood definition of HD re: media and interface cripple-ware. Apple is in the Blu-ray camp and rumors indicate drives shipping by January at the latest. If history is any guide, they'll also support HD-DVD media as dual-format drives become available.

Currently, I see no mention of HDCP support on their video cards and monitors. Anyone hear otherwise?

I've heard nothing about HDCP and hope they don't inflict this garbage on customers any sooner than they need to.
