Did we invade the wrong country? One of the lessons being drawn from the Sept. 11 report is that Iran was the real threat. It had links to al Qaeda, allowed some of the Sept. 11 hijackers to transit and is today harboring al Qaeda leaders. The Iraq war critics have a new line of attack: We should have done Iran instead of Iraq.

Yup. Just look at Maureen Dowd's latest nonsense, which I don't feel like linking.

Now Iran is the real threat. Or North Korea. And Afghanistan, in hindsight.

Until the minute the Adminstration starts to sound like it might actually considering doing something to counter these grave threats. In that instant, we will be back to the anti-war howls. Just like Afghanistan. Just like Iraq.

These critiques are mere excuses to do nothing, and nothing, and nothing, until we are hit again, and then probably still nothing.

Profoundly unserious.
