How do you know that EPS is expected to be lower this year as opposed to last? Yes, last quarter revenues were below the prior year, but Sandisk informed us that this would be the case. They have made no such announcements thus far. I don't know whether they'll be able to ramp up for a big surge in demand (e.g. Christmas). We can only assume they are preparing for their day in the sun and are preparing accordingly. I have browsed their open job reqs. as a hint of what their own growth expectations are and they have 33 job openings. 33 openings is a lot for a small company. I generally use employment requisitions as a low level indicator of a company's growth prospects and Sandisk seems to be preparing for a promising future. Retail visibility is not important. Before the PC did IBM have any retail visibility? Certainly not. Does Cisco? No. While Sandisk does not own, nor does anybody else, the patent to flash technology, they hold considerable intellectual property. There is tremendous value in that property and I think they are leveraging it well. They could evolve as the only VIABLE game in town (but admittedly, unlikely) Then again, there usually is a leader in any sector of the economy and I think Sandisk is most likely to win that crown. All compliments and criticism are welcome. Patrick ps I can't get this damn comment box to wrap around. When I put hard returns in my message the first letter of every new sentence gets clipped off. Does anybody have any suggestions for addressing this? Thanks in advance.
