I also use Earthlink and receive those messages about once a quarter. So far, they've done nothing more than send me messages. Some ISPs actually have a limit (expressed as maximum GB received) embedded in their 'appropriate use' policy. Earthlink isn't there ... yet.

FWIW, Earthlink uses UUNet. When I signed up w/MB, I also opened up a Prodigy account to have another provider via a different backbone per a strong suggestion from Steve Demerest (sp?). Prodigy uses Sprint's backbone. Confusing, no? Sprintlink doesn't use the Sprint backbone rather they resell Earthlink/UUNet.
