RESTON, Va., Aug 4, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- H-Quotient, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: HQNT chart, msgs) announced the filing of a lawsuit in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia "against persons it believes are manipulating its stock through a scheme to purchase and/or sell and/or short sell the stock and profit thereby using various fradulent means, including defaming and disparaging the company on the Internet in order to depress the company's stock price. This fraudulent scheme has been and is being perpetrated through message postings on an Internet message board that discusses publicly traded securities. This type of illegal activity is characterized by the SEC as a form of Internet fraud utilizing online bulletin boards to disseminate bogus messages through 'threads' made up of numerous messages concocted by users hiding behind aliases."
