Well, yes, it seems you are correct to a certain extent. However, your post was wrong as well. When you go back to when I was born, the highest tax rates show that our country has been SIGNIFICANTLY progressive most of the last 50 years, with the exception of a handful of years. And it just so happens that those handful of years were the years when our national debt great dramatically.

So the conclusion is obvious. The Laffer Curve is alive and well and we are currently at an unsustainably low tax rate structure, which is increasing our national debt to unsustainably high levels. We're going to have to raise taxes to what it was in the 1990s and cut spending to solve this problem.
