I was reading JP Morgans report on ASND yesterday where they mentioned that the MCI and BT contracts that NN won last year (making NN go from 44 to 69 on the news, thanks to the Momentum players) are coming up for rebids. That bodes extremely well for Ascend as chances are very high that other recent wins gives them great sales food and there still aint no competition in the horizon.
Cisco recently conceded defeat when they said that their alliance with Alcatel will focus on Enterprise rather than Telecom Carriers. Alcatel has decided to team up with Ascend in that arena.

Hitesh ---

At NN's recent AGM, Alan Lutz said the company was increasing its head count at the MCI/WCOM Boston office and the C&W London office to 20. He also listed upcoming possible wins: MCI, BT, Global One, and Bell South International. If recent wins is "sales food," then NN's coup at SBC and last quarter's aggressive orders from BT stand them in good stead.

I'm hoping Alan announces the new EVP for Marketing at InterOp. He lost his first choice when Armstrong countered with an offer the guy couldn't refuse.

At any rate, the games have just begun and I'm quite certain there'll be some surprise interceptions.

Good to see you posting!
