Here's the short version of the Bill and the one that was sent to the House of Representatives.

I'm not looking for the contents of the various immigration reform proposals, I'm just pointing out that the advocates of amnesty AND the news writers who describe on political process on immigration reform seldom state what they are actually pursuing. The say "reform" rather than "let a bunch of illegal aliens gain permanent residency and all its benefits".

It's similar to the "gotta pass the bill to see what's in it" problem. I think most Americans do not support giving illegal alien permanent residency + citizenship, and the proponents of such plans are afraid to express their goals in simple and clear language. If they did, the electorate would reject the plan. So they have to mask it in rose colored language such as "reform" and "change" rather than just stating what they want in plain language - let some illegal residents become legal. It's not so hard to say it, why can't the proponents of such plans speak without forked tongue?
