Kerry/Edwards and Where to Run Al Rantel at www.newsmax.com Thursday, July 22, 2004 The Kerry/Edwards ticket is already showing signs of how they would run America. We are hearing lots of rhetoric, a lot of smoke and mirrors, and little substance outside of their liberal voting records that they both are trying to run away from.
There are many examples, but let's just cover a few. Mr. Kerry likes to complain that America still does not do enough to protect the security of the homeland under the Bush Administration. Never mind that there has not been an attack on America since 9/11, Kerry can’t stop talking about all the things we don’t know and are not doing, especially because according to the Senator from Massachusetts, we are bogged down in Iraq. Maybe Kerry should explain why he did not know for the last eight months that one of his own foreign policy advisors, former Clinton National Security Advisor Samuel Berger, was under criminal investigation. It seems national security documents were winding up down Berger’s pants and shoes without his knowledge. Kerry, who thinks we should be reading al Qaeda’s minds if only he were president, was in the dark about his own guy. On a side note, can you only imagine the media reaction and the Kerry campaign reaction if Condoleezza Rice, the Berger counterpart in the Bush Administration, were stuffing documents out the door in her bra? They’d be demanding that she be turned over to al Qaeda for beheading.
Another example of Mr. Kerry’s duplicitous nature comes in a new interview with Tom Brokaw of NBC. Kerry recently attended a fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall where various stars used foul language and said outrageous things about President Bush in a vulgar and vile manner. Kerry is seen laughing and clapping and later said the performers represented the values of America. Now that he has seen the reaction of the public to the remarks, he tells Brokaw that he was uncomfortable and thought the remarks were inappropriate. Funny, he didn’t look uncomfortable clapping and smiling away on stage. As President Bush said recently, if you don’t agree with Kerry on an issue it just means you caught him on the wrong day.
Not to be outdone on the vice-presidential side, The Breck Girl appeared with Mrs. John Edwards on the Larry King Show on CNN where they were sure to get an hour-long infomercial disguised as an interview. During the unpaid love fest, Senator and Mrs. Edwards complain that one of the failures of President Bush is that they don’t know how to protect their children against terrorism, even three years after 9/11.
This, according to Mrs. Edwards, is one of the things her husband and John Kerry will change as they change the direction of America. Does it occur to anyone else what empty and silly rhetoric this is? The only conceivable way the Administration could tell the public how to protect their children, or adults for that matter, would be if we know exactly what, where, and when terrorists plan to strike. In the meantime, are parents supposed to round up their children and call Washington to figure out how to protect them? Tells you a lot about the mind-set of what a Kerry Administration would consist of. Liberals think all wisdom comes from government, including how parents should protect those they hold most dear.
I do have a thought, however. Maybe Senator and Mrs. Edwards can hire the same people in their Administration who did not know their own foreign policy advisor was under criminal investigation to find out the deep dark plans of al Qaeda. That way, all of America’s kids could know where to run besides the basements of the mansions that John Kerry and John Edwards call home. |
