Love your pleasant personality. Talk with major audio retailers like Sweetwater, Thoroughbred, Guitar Center and Sam Ash. Ask them how many Zip drives and Jaz drives they sell to musicians. That will give you a better idea of why IOM drives are standard. Then ask how many Syquest or other drives they sell. The bottom line is SALES.

For those musicians that forgot to back up their data and lost complete albums worth of material, I recommend them going back to
school. Perhaps even changing their major. The recording industry
technology is growing rapidly and their is little margin for error.

Sony's Mini-disc is not suitable for music use beyond the bedroom, due to its data compression.

Regarding samplers, one of the NEWEST samplers is the ESI-4000 by EMU systems, which offers the Turbo Zip model for those not wanting to buy hundreds of floppy disks.

Regarding the Presario, you are correct it was misstated. It should have read "ZIP standard in most Compaq Presarios." Compaq must like Zip drives to make them standard equipment, don't you think?

Syquest drives can only be special ordered via their built to order program. Can't blame Compaq for covering their bases.

Should be a fun year for IOMEGA as it regains it's market dominance.
