The first project I remember was Intel's effort in 1982 - they were looking at integrating the support PC logic on to the 8088 core. A design group in Japan (headed by one of the 3 "inventors" of the Microprocessor) was heading up that group. That project went nowhere real fast. The PCOAC (PC On A CHip) has been a holy graille ever since. It will most likely continue to be one. Re: ".With NEC how much can they (Nat Semi) lose (make?) per chip with a $500 PC." I can only guess. The point here is that Packard Bell has been losing money, Cyrix has been losing money - so how can the two of them get together and MAKE MONEY? I'm fairly certain that whatever Packard Bell saves on Cyrix's chips they will lose by having to sell computers with "Cyrix Instead" for much less than the Intel Inside computers. Paul
