There is no question that Intel is a fabulously run company. Just because it has been wildly successful to date does not mean it's always a buy and worth more than the current stock price - give me a break.

In fact, the reason it is overvalued today is because the brand zombies that invested in it over the years have been "trained" to believe that it is always smart to buy on the dips. And while that may indeed be a good idea for the true long term investor, its a very poor idea (my opinion) for investors that want to make money this summer. The summer outlook for Intel, PC makers, and PC components makers is absolutely grim - overcapacity, inventory gluts, aggressive price competition, and an absolutely brain dead investor base that believes any tech stock is always a buy.

Technology and telecom are great industries for the long term, but you're dreamin' if you believe that the turnaround will happen soon.

The focus on Kurlak is stupid - he seems to have done a damn good job of identifying the negative issues and deserves credit. But going forward he will not be moving the stock down - his position is eminently clear - Poor Investment Right Now. Anybody that sells on any of his continued comments has a hearing problem.

Anyway, long term probably good, but short term horrible.

P.S. It is somewhat of a seasonal trend for tech stocks to peak in May - not every year but a pattern nonetheless. This is another reason to hang up on the idea of making money for the next few months.
