I don't think the i-pad is going to kill PC's either. They haven't convinced my to retire my cheaper, somewhat more capable netbook. That's just Apple fan-boy talk.

I think what's going to kill current PC's is the cloud. You'll travel around with all your processing power available at all times. When you enter your living room, your big 3-D flatscreen will be your monitor. You will write with voice input - I already do this with Dragon. The only thing really missing is OS manipulation and mobile display.

The OS part will probably be done with a combination of voice and gestures, using sensors which are getting really small and cheap - partly thanks to the Wii. The mobile display will be the hardest part, which is really what the i-pad addresses. It's JUST a mobile display.
