Hop-On Opens Office in China

David Chow Named as Vice President of Asian Operations

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hop-On (OTC: HPON), the leading developer of disposable and fully recyclable cell phones, today announced that it has opened an office in Shanghai, China to establish an Asian base of operations. This will allow Hop-On to work more closely with its outsourced manufacturing partners in the Pacific Rim and will serve as the sales office for the distribution of its phones in China, India and other parts of Asia. Hop-On also named David Chow as its Vice President of Asian Operations. He will oversee the day-to-day operations at Hop-On's China office and will coordinate the sales and marketing efforts with Hop-On's customers in this region of the world.
Peter Michaels, Chairman and CEO of Hop-On, commented, "In order to be successful in the Asian market, we realized that we needed to establish a local presence to be closer to both our vendors and customers. With China's recognized leadership position in low cost manufacturing, we decided that it was critical to open a China office so that we will be able to work most effectively with our partners to produce our disposable cell phones and ensure on time deliveries to our customers. In addition, with the growing need for a low-cost handset solution for many of the developing countries in that region of the world, we needed to be able to better respond to our customers' needs during their normal business hours which is difficult to do from the United States."

"As part of our growth plan it was also essential that we add a proven, local management team in China. We are very pleased to have David Chow heading up our China office and we are confident that his extensive experience in the Asian market will allow us to take full advantage of the opportunities available to us."

Over his career, David Chow has served as a consultant to some of the world's largest telecommunications companies, with a focus on establishing business ventures and direct sales channels in China. He brings long-term relationships with nearly all the major network operators and distributors in China. Prior to joining Hop-On, Chow served as a consultant for Northwestern Bell Phones (NWBP) in the U.S. since 1995. Chow acted as a consultant for the China market both in sales marketing and sourcing for product manufacturing. Chow also served as a sales and marketing consultant for Telit, one of the leading GSM cell phone manufacturers in Italy. Chow was involved in the establishment and development of joint ventures for the sale of Telit products to major customers in China. He was also responsible for setting-up distribution channels and post-sales networks in China. Earlier in his carrier, Chow owned and managed Telemale Telesystems Inc., based in Taiwan. The exporter/manufacturer specialized in telephones and telephone answering machines to OEM customers worldwide including Alcatel, Telecom Italia, Uniden, Unisonics, Northwestern Bell Phones, Conair and Bell South, among others. Telemale's manufacturing facilities were situated in Philippines, Thailand and China. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Maryland.
