No. Buy and hold was the way to go, most definitely.
Most of my 1997 strategy was holding long stock, and buying puts to protect it. (which failed, as we both know). So for 1998, I sold puts every month, and kept long stock, which I wrote CC on. When called, I bought again. Worked great. Adaptive learning.
Luckily, I didn't sell puts for April (would have been killed in this recent downdraft), but did for Jan and Feb and March. So I guess I procrastinated in my favor!!
With this stock, as TraderEd has said, just buy and hold it. When the fundamentals change, sell it. Nothing's changed, but I like to trade.
EMC is a nice trading stock, even in the current bloodbath.
